The belt bridge and the foot­bridge had to be tem­po­r­a­ri­ly sup­port­ed for the refur­bish­ment and/or exch­an­ge of the bridge supports.
Modu­lar scaf­fol­ding ele­ments were uti­li­sed to trans­fer the loads from the bridges into the scaffolding.
Lif­ting loads were over­co­me by using bal­las­ting. Hori­zon­tal shear loads were trans­fer­red into the con­s­truc­tion site ground by uti­li­sing pegs.
