A sus­pen­ded mobi­le scaf­fold tower had to be deve­lo­ped for refur­bis­hing the Rats­weg­brü­cke bridge in Frank­furt, one which would not exert any signi­fi­cant loads onto the foot­path caps. The bal­last arran­ge­ment had to be opti­mi­sed in order to achie­ve this.

In addi­ti­on to con­side­ring the traf­fic loads, the con­s­truc­tion was desi­gned taking into account the bur­den of the wind from the approa­ching traf­fic of two trains at a speed of 160 km/h.
Moving the scaf­fol­ding was exe­cu­ted by means of a bal­last system.
